## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AT 1209 HST A CIRRUS SR-22 AIRCRAFT, SERIAL NUMBER 4164 OPERATED BY COMMERCIAL PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ DECLARED AN EMERGENCY WITH A REPORTED AIR BUBBLE IN THE FUEL LINE AND WAS UNABLE TO TRANSFER FUEL FROM THE AUXILIARY FERRY FUEL TANKS TO THE WING FUEL TANKS. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ REPORTED THAT HE HAD 4 HOURS OF FUEL LEFT WITH 6 HOURS TO HIS DESTINATION. THE BARBERS POINT COAST GUARD STATION WAS NOTIFIED AND A C-130 INTERCEPTED THE AIRCRAFT. AT 1644 HST, THE AIRCRAFT DITCHED INTO THE PACIFIC OCEAN AT COORDINATES 22.18 N 15.219 W. THE AIRCRAFT WAS SUBMERGED AND UNRECOVERABLE. THE PILOT DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR15LA089](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR15LA089), Jan 26, 2015: Cirrus SR22 - NO Series (N7YT), Maui (Pacific Ocean), substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inability to transfer fuel from the aft auxiliary fuel tank to the main fuel tanks for reasons that could not be determined because the airplane was ditched and not recovered.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
