## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AT APPROXIMATELY 1700 CST ON 1/29/2015, BELL/WATSON 47G EXPERIENCED A HARD LANDING DURING FLIGHT INSTRUCTION WHILE PRACTICING AUTOROTATIONS. THE INSTRUCTOR AND STUDENT PILOT WERE UNINJURED. THE HELICOPTER SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE AS A RESULT OF THE HARD LANDING.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN15LA131](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN15LA131), Jan 29, 2015: Bell-Watson 47 G (N43762), North Little Rock, AR, substantial damage. Probable cause: The flight instructor’s failure to maintain adequate rotor rpm during the practice touchdown autorotation, which resulted in a subsequent loss of helicopter control and impact with terrain.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
