## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 2/4/2015 AT APPROXIMATELY 0010Z HRS AIRCRAFT N22GE A PA-31-325 HAD AN ENGINE FIRE. THE PILOT^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ SAW THE FLAMES, AND INITIATED THE EMERGENCY CHECKLIST AND LANDED THE AIRCRAFT AT RDU WITHOUT INCIDENT. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ TAXIED THE AIRCRAFT TO TAC AIR AND NOTICED THE LEFT ENGINE COWL AND WING WERE COVERED IN OIL. WHEN THE COWLING WAS REMOVED HE NOTED THAT AN OIL HOSE WAS BURNT INSIDE THE REAR OF THE ENGINE. THE MECHANIC FROM QUANTUM SPATIAL CAME INSPECTED THE DAMAGE, DETERMINED IT WAS MINIMAL AND REPAIRED IT. HE REMOVED THE PROP UNFEATHERING ACCUMULATORS (WOODWARD P/N 8907-030) AND HOSES (STRATOFLEX SF111) ON BOTH ENGINES, SINCE THEY ARE OPTIONAL ITEMS ON THE COLEMILL ENTERPRISES STC SA970SO. THE AIRCRAFT WAS TESTED, DETERMINED TO BE AIRWORTHY AND WAS FLOWN BACK TO ITS HOME BASE EARLY ON 2/10/2015.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
