## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

FLIGHT FROM SOUTHERN PINES NC TO GREENSBORO NC AS PART 91. AFTER TOUCHDOWN, BELOW 45 KNOTS, AIRCRAFT VEERED LEFT, PIC COULD NOT CONTROL IT WITH RUDDER/NOSE GEAR STEERING, LEFT RUNWAY INTO FROZEN GRASS.

NOTE: THE PART NAME IN THE IPC IS "UPPER BRACE ASSEMBLY" WHICH INCLUDES THE UPPER STRUT BARREL AND SUPPORTING STRUCTURE. THE ONE INVOLVED WAS AN OLDER MAGNESIUM CASTING; WHILE THE NEW REPLACEMENT NO LONGER USES THAT ALLOY WHICH WAS MORE SUSCEPTIBLE TO CORROSION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
