## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT PERFORMED A "TOUCH AND GO" FROM RUNWAY 01 AT THE CHARLES B WHEELER (KMKC) AIRPORT. AFTER CLIMBING TO ABOUT 1000 FEET, THE ENGINE LOST POWER. THE PILOT STATED HE SWITCHED TO ANOTHER FUEL TANK AND THEN EXECUTED A LEFT TURN FOR RETURN TO THE AIRPORT. THE ENGINE FAILED DURING THE TURN AND THE PILOT PERFORMED AN OFF-AIRPORT EMERGENCY LANDING ON THE NORTH WEST CORNER OF THE AIRPORT PROPERTY. ON LANDING THE NOSE GEAR AND LEFT WHEEL DEPARTED THE AIRCRAFT. POST ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION FOUND THE LEFT FUEL TANK EMPTY. THE RIGHT FUEL TANK CONTAINED APPROXIMATELY 12 GALLONS OF FUEL AND THE FUEL SELECTOR WAS IN THE "OFF" POSITION.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
