## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT DEPARTED KVTI AND FLEW TO PILOT?S PARENTS? HOME LOCATED IN THE COUNTRY. PILOT LANDED ON GRAVEL ROAD IN FRONT OF PARENT?S HOME. LANDING WAS UNEVENTFUL HOWEVER; AFTER PILOT APPLIED BRAKING AND THEN RELEASED, THE RIGHT HAND BRAKE DID NOT RELEASE AND FORCED AIRCRAFT TO VEER TO THE RIGHT. THE DITCH TO THE RIGHT OF THE PILOT WAS EXTREMELY SHALLOW AND AIRCRAFT WENT THROUGH DITCH STRIKING AN ELECTRICAL POLE WITH LEFT HAND WING LEADING EDGE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA15LA019](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA15LA019), Mar 9, 2015: Aeronca 7AC (N83643), Garrison, IA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The malfunction of the right brake for reasons that could not be determined because postaccident examination revealed no anomalies that would have precluded normal operation.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
