## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT WAS EN ROUTE FROM BOLINGBROOK, ILLINOIS TO ST.PAUL, MINNESOTA. A FUEL STOP WAS PLANNED AT MONROE, WISCONSIN AND RAN OUT OF FUEL 5 NM SE OF THAT AIRPORT. AS CFI PILOT WAS DESCENDING TO MAKE EMERGENCY LANDING ON ROAD WITH LANDING GEAR EXTENDED, HE SNAGGED FOUR ELECTRICAL WIRES ACROSS POWERLINE POLES WITH THE LEFT WING WHICH FLUNG AIRCRAFT INTO DITCH ALONGSIDE ROAD. PILOT DID NOT RECEIVE A SCRATCH, THOUGH AIRCRAFT HAD NUMEROUS ELECTRICAL BURNS AS WELL AS A NOSE GEAR COLLAPSE AFTER IMPACT.
