## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AFTER TAKE-OFF FROM RUNWAY 7, AIRCRAFT N811KM REACHED AN ALTITUDE OF 400 FEET ABOVE GROUND LEVEL AT WHICH TIME THE ENGINE LOST POWER. THE PILOT INITIATED A LEFT TURN IN AN ATTEMPT TO RETURN TO THE AIRPORT. THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED TERRAIN ABOUT 30 FEET SHORT OF THE RUNWAY AND NOSED OVER. THIS RESULTED IN SUBSTANTIAL AIRCRAFT DAMAGE AND MINOR INJURIES TO BOTH THE PILOT AND PASSENGER.
