## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE INDIVIDUAL OPERATING THE AIRCRAFT HAD JUST PURCHASED IT THE DAY PRIOR AND HAD TAKEN IT TO FINGER LAKE TO PRACTICE TAXIING. HE DOES NOT HAVE A PILOT CERTIFICATE AND STATED HE WANTED TO PRACTICE TAXIING THE AIRCRAFT TO GET SOME EXPERIENCE BEHIND THE CONTROLS. DURING TAXI OPERATIONS THE INDIVIDUAL LOST CONTROL AND TAXIED ONTO THE SHORE AND INTO A STAND OF TREES WHERE THE AIRCRAFT FLIPPED UP-SIDE DOWN AND SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE. OWNER RECEIVED MINOR INJURY AND LEFT THE SCENE TO BE SEEN AT A LOCAL HOSPITAL. OWNER HAD RECEIVED NO TRAINING ON THE OPERATION OF THIS AIRCRAFT PRIOR TO THE EVENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
