## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON MARCH 31ST, 2015 AT APPROXIMATELY 1734 LOCAL TIME, A PRIVATE PILOT EXERCISING SPORT PILOT PRIVILEGES MADE A HARD LANDING IN AN AIR BIKE RX40 AT BLUE SKY RANCH AND AERODROME (35KS) A GRASS AIRFIELD, IN DERBY KANSAS.

THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED 35KS LATE AFTERNOON FOR A PLEASURE FLIGHT. ACCORDING TO THE AIRMAN THE APPROACH TO LANDING WAS NOT SMOOTH. WHEN CROSSWIND CORRECTION WAS ADDED DURING TOUCH DOWN THE AIRCRAFT HIT THE GRASS AIRFIELD HARD ENOUGH TO BREAK OFF THE LEFT MAIN WHEEL AND FLIP THE AIRCRAFT OVER.

THE AIRMAN ON BOARD THE AIRCRAFT AT THE TIME OF THIS ACCIDENT DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS (VMC) PREVAILED AT THE AIRPORT AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT.
