## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

MAIN GEAR CAME DOWN FIRST WITH A HARD NOSE GEAR LANDING. FRONT TIRE BLEW OUT FORCING AIRCRAFT RIGHT SIDE INTO GRASS. NOSE GEAR BROKE OFF. AIRCRAFT NOSED INTO GROUND AND FLIPPED OVER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN15LA207](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN15LA207), Apr 7, 2015: Cessna 177B (N30981), Jennings, LA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's improper landing flare, which resulted in a hard landing, the nosewheel tire bursting, and a subsequent porpoise and nose-over.

## Other reports on N30981 (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 20130915016749I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/20130915016749I), Sep 15, 2013: Cessna 177B (N30981), Simsbury, CT, Minor damage. On go around pilot flew through trees at end of runway, LH horizontal stab tip struck trees and plastic tip broke off.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
