## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AT THE END OF A VFR NIGHT FLIGHT FROM OKC TO MDD THE PILOT EXPERIENCED AN ELECTRICAL POWER LOSS WHEN THE ELECTRIC LANDING GEAR SWITCH WAS ACTIVATED. THIS MOMENTARY POWER LOSS RECOVERED ITSELF WHEN THE LANDING GEAR SWITCH WAS DESELECTED. THE SECOND TIME THE LANDING GEAR SWITCH WAS ACTIVATED THE SAME POWER LOSS OCCURRED, BUT THE CIRCUIT BREAKER FOR THE LANDING GEAR MOTOR HAD POPPED. THE ELECTRICAL POWER RETURNED AND THE PILOT DIVERTED TO MAF TO LAND AT A TOWERED AIRPORT BEFORE THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILED COMPLETELY. THE PILOT DID NOT RESET THE CIRCUIT BREAKER FOR THE LANDING GEAR, BUT FOLLOWED THE MANUAL EXTENSION PROCEDURE. THE LANDING GEAR DOWN LIGHT FAILED TO ILLUMINATE AND AFTER GETTING VISUAL INDICATIONS THAT THE GEAR WAS EXTENDED THE PILOT LANDED AT MAF. THE NOSE GEAR FOLDED AFTER TOUCHDOWN AND THE MAIN GEAR FOLLOWED. THE NEXT MORNING, IN AN ATTEMPT TO DETERMINE THE BATTERY CONDITION, BUT IT WAS TOO LOW IN VOLTAGE TO CLOSE THE SOLENOID. DURING FLIGHT THERE WAS NO INDICATION OF AN ALTERNATOR FAILURE OR LOW VOLTAGE. THE AIRCRAFT VOLTAGE WAS ADEQUATE TO POWER THE LIGHTS, RADIOS AND TRANSPONDER DURING THE DIVERT TO MAF.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
