## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON APRIL 12, 2015 AT 15:30 LOCAL, N5487E, AN ALON A2 AIRCRAFT WAS STARTED FOR PLANNED TAXI FAMILIARIZATION. WHEN THE MOTOR STARTED IT ACHIEVED A HIGHER THAN EXPECTED RPM. WITH THE PILOT SEATED AT THE CONTROLS THE AIRCRAFT PROCEEDED SOUTH BOUND ON A TAXIWAY BETWEEN ROWS OF HANGERS. THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED THE PAVED SURFACE AND TURNED WESTBOUND THROUGH THE GRASS. THE RIGHT WING CONTACTED THE BACK OF A COMMERCIAL MOWER AND THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED A RIGHT TURN TO A NORTH WEST HEADING. THE PROPELLER MADE CONTACT MULTIPLE TIMES WITH A LIGHT POLE THAT LAY HORIZONTALLY ON THE GROUND.

DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT SKIN WAS SUSTAINED TO BOTH WINGS AND THE AIRCRAFT TAIL SECTION AS IT CONTACTED VARIOUS DEBRIS ITEMS THAT LAY IN IT?S PATH. THE FRONT TIRE SUSTAINED A LOSS OF PRESSURE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
