## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

SHORTLY AFTER DEPARTING A PRIVATE AIRSTRIP APPROXIMATELY 4 MILES WEST OF BUFFALO, MN, THE PILOT REPORTED THAT THE ENGINE STARTED TO LOSE POWER, RPM'S DROPPED AND EGT'S ON ALL CYLINDERS WERE RISING. THE ENGINE THEN QUIT. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE THEN PUMPED THE THROTTLE AND WAS ABLE TO OBTAIN SHORT BURSTS OF POWER AND THEN THE ENGINE QUIT AGAIN. THE PILOT WAS ABLE TO LAND THE AIRCRAFT IN A PLOWED FIELD WITH NO APPARENT DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. UPON REMOVING AND DISASSEMBLING THE CARBURETOR, A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF DEBRIS WAS FOUND INSIDE THE CARBURETOR BOWL.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
