## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRMAN ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, WAS PERFORMING TOUCH AND GOES AFTER COMPLETING THE ANNUAL CONDITIONAL INSPECTION OF AIRCRAFT N40RR. UPON TOUCH DOWN AFTER THE SECOND TOUCH AND GO, THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR TORQUE LINK BROKE LOOSE FROM ONE END AND ALLOWED FOR THE LANDING GEAR TO COLLAPSE. THE AIRCRAFT WING TIP STRUCK THE GROUND AND THE AIRCRAFT VEERED OFF THE SIDE OF THE RUNWAY INTO THE GRASS AND DIRT. DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT IS LIMITED TO A SCRATCHED RIGHT HAND WING TIP AND DAMAGED LANDING GEAR DOOR. THE PROPELLER HAS INDICATIONS OF GRASS STAINS. THE LANDING GEAR TORQUE LINK WHICH BROKE WAS ORIGINALLY INSTALLED AND UPON ORIGINAL MANUFACTURE AND HAS NOT BEEN MODIFIED. THE REASON FOR THE FAILURE HAS NOT BEEN DETERMINED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
