## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON APRIL 19, 2015 ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ FLEW THE AIRCRAFT FROM ODO TO E11 TO PURCHASE FUEL. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ GRANDSON WAS ON BOARD. ON THE RETURN FLIGHT TO ODO THE ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^PILOT NOTICED SEVERAL ELECTRICAL FAILURES AND THE ENGINE BEGAN TO SURGE. HE LANDED AT ODO AND THE ENGINE DIED WHEN THE THROTTLE WAS CLOSED DURING FLARE OUT. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ SMELLED WHAT HE THOUGHT WAS ELECTRICAL FIRE, SO AFTER ROLL-OUT HE SHUT DOWN ALL SYSTEMS AND DEPARTED THE AIRCRAFT.

THE FIRE EXTINGUISHED AFTER LANDING BUT INSPECTION INDICATED FIRE DAMAGE TO FUEL LINES, WIRING AND THE AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSER.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
