## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON APRIL 21, 2015, N11562, A PIPER PA-28R-201 AIRCRAFT DEPARTED AT 10:41 MST ON A VFR CROSS COUNTRY FLIGHT FROM PHOENIX SKY HARBOR INTL. (PHX) EN ROUTE TO JOLIET REGIONAL (JOT). THE PILOT LANDED AT SANDIA AIRPARK (1N1) FOR A FUEL STOP, THE PILOT FUELED THE AIRCRAFT HIMSELF AND DEPARTED (1N1) AT APPROXIMATELY 1540 MST. IMMEDIATELY AFTER TAKEOFF THE PILOT NOTICED THE LEFT WING FUEL CAP WAS MISSING AND WAS LOSING FUEL OVERBOARD. THE PILOT CIRCLED AROUND TO LAND ON RUNWAY 27 AND WAS FOCUSED ON THE FUEL ISSUE AND LANDING IMMEDIATELY SO INTENTLY THAT HE NEGLECTED TO LOWER THE LANDING GEAR AND DID NOT REALIZE IT UNTIL THE PROPELLER STRUCK THE PAVEMENT. SUBSEQUENTLY THE FUEL CAP WAS FOUND APPROXIMATELY 100 FEET FROM THE DEPARTURE END OF THE RUNWAY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
