## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

HELICOPTER EXPERIENCED ROUGH RUNNING ENGINE WHILE TRANSITION PHX SKY HARBOR AIRSPACE ENROUTE TO A PHOTO SHOOT. PILOT DECIDED TO EXECUTE A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING AND REQUESTED TO LAND AT THE PAPAGO ARMY FIELD. AFTER BEING CLEARED, HE PERFORMED A NORMAL LANDING AND CALLED MAINTENANCE TO INVESTIGATE THE ROUGH RUNNING ENGINE.

MAINTENANCE CAME OUT TO THE FLIGHTLINE AND TROUBLE SHOT THE ENGINE PROBLEM. IT WAS DETERMINED TO HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY A FOULED BOTTOM SPARKPLUG. SPARKPLUG WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED WITH NEW. AIRCRAFT WAS RUN UP & HOVER TESTED. ALL SYSTEMS OPERATED SATISFACTORILY. THE HELICOPTER WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE AND FLOWN BACK TO IT'S MAIN BASE. SUBSEQUENT TO THIS FLIGHT MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL DECIDED TO PULL THE CYLINDER WHICH HAD FOULED AND REPLACED WITH OVERHAULED CYLINDER.

AIRCRAFT HAS BEEN OPERATING SATISFACTORILY SINCE THE CYLINDER REPLACEMENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
