## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE CONDUCTING A CONFINED AREA TAKEOFF IN HELICOPTER N8011Q THE AIRCRAFT FAILED TO GAIN SUFFICIENT ROTOR SPEED TO MAINTAIN LIFT AS THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN TO TRANSLATE TO FORWARD MOTION. THE INITIAL FORWARD MOTION PLACED THE AIRCRAFT OVER A DENSE FOREST ENVIRONMENT. THE AIRCRAFT THEN BEGAN TO SETTLE INTO THE TREES. THE INSTRUCTOR TOOK THE CONTROLS FROM THE STUDENT AND ATTEMPTED TO RETURN TO THE TAKEOFF POINT. THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED TREES APPROXIMATELY 40 FEET FROM THE POINT OF TAKEOFF.
