## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON TAKE OFF FROM RANCH TEHAMA, CA AIRPORT, THE PILOT EXPERIENCED A PARTIAL LOSS OF ENGINE POWER. AS HE WAS STILL OVER THE RUNWAY, HE ELECTED TO LAND, HOWEVER, DURING THE LANDING ROLL THE AIRCRAFT WENT OFF THE END OF THE DEPARTURE RUNWAY (09) AND INTO THE OVERRUN AREA. AS IT ENTERED THE OVERRUN AREA, THE AIRPLANE'S LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR COLLIDED WITH A PORTION OF FENCING. THE IMPACT FORCE SEPARATED THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR FROM THE AIRCRAFT AND SUBSEQUENT INERTIA CAUSED THE AIR CRAFT TO SPIN 180 DEGREES TO THE LEFT . THE LEFT WING STRUCK THE GROUND WHERE AIRCRAFT CAME TO A HALT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR15LA162](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR15LA162), May 16, 2015: Earl Allen Miglet (N414US), Corning, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The partial loss of engine power during initial climb due to a loose set screw, which allowed the throttle cable rig within the connector to slip.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
