## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ABOUT FIFTEEN MINUTES AFTER DEPARTURE FROM PALM SPRINGS, CA, ENROUTE TO SANTA ANA, CA, THE PILOT STARTED EXPERIENCING AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE. EVENTUALLY, HE LOST ALL ELECTRICAL POWER AND WAS NOT ABLE TO COMMUNICATE WITH AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL, SO HE FLEW WEST TO THE COAST AND THEN SOUTH TO PALOMAR AIRPORT AT CARLSBAD, CA. THE CONTROL TOWER GAVE HIM A GREEN LIGHT AND HE PROCEEDED IN FOR LANDING. THE PILOT SAID THAT HE SELECTED THE LANDING GEAR TO DOWN AND TRIED TO LOWER THE FLAPS. THE AIRCRAFT CAME IN FAST AND LANDED LONG WITH THE LANDING GEAR IN THE UP POSITION. THERE WERE NO INJURIES, BUT THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE.
