## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AFTER ARRIVING AT FREEWAY AIRPORT, MITCHELLVILLE, MD (WOO), THE PILOT EXPERIENCED DIFFICULTY LANDING THE AIRCRAFT IN GUSTY HEADWINDS.

HIS FIRST LANDING ATTEMPT RESULTED IN A GO AROUND. DURING HIS SECOND ATTEMPT, THE AIRCRAFT "FLOATED" AND HE ATTEMPTED TO SALVAGE THE LANDING BY POINTING THE NOSE TO THE GROUND. THIS RESULTED IN THE NOSE GEAR IMPACTING THE RUNWAY FIRST WHICH STARTED THE AIRCRAFT PORPOISING UNTIL IT CAME TO A STOP.

THE PORPOISING RESULTED IN DAMAGE TO THE PROPELLER, NOSE WHEEL AND FIREWALL.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)
