## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT IN COMMAND (PIC) STATED THAT WHILE ON A CROSS COUNTRY FLIGHT FROM KOBE TO 21S HIS APPROACH ANGLE TO 13 WAS A LITTLE HIGH. DURING THE LANDING FLARE HE ENCOUNTERED ROUGH AIR WHICH RESULTED IN A HARD LANDING. A GO AROUND WAS INITIATED RESULTING IN A NORMAL LANDING UNTIL NOSE WHEEL TOUCHDOWN. THE PIC STATED THAT THE AIRCRAFT ACTED LIKE IT HAD A FLAT NOSE TIRE AND HE TAXIED TO THE TAXI WAY AND SHUT DOWN.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA15CA111](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA15CA111), Jun 5, 2015: Cessna 177 (N29415), Clewiston, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's improper level off and flare in crosswind conditions, which resulted in a loss of control and hard landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
