## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING THE TAKE OFF ROLL, THE PILOT'S SEAT SUDDENLY BECAME DISENGAGED FROM THE SEAT STOP. THE SECONDARY SEAT STOP WHICH HAD BEEN INSTALLED IN NOVEMBER OF 2014 DID NOT FUNCTION. THE PILOT HAD HIS HAND ON THE THROTTLE AND AS THE SEAT MOVED REARWARD HE REDUCED THROTTLE TO IDLE. HE COULD NO LONGER REACH THE RUDDER PEDALS. THE AIRCRAFT MADE AN APPROXIMATELY 100 DEGREE LEFT TURN CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT WING AND RIGHT HORIZONTAL STABILIZER. THE PILOT THEN TAXIED THE AIRCRAFT BACK TO THE RAMP.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA15CA125](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA15CA125), Jun 6, 2015: Cessna 180B (N5067E), Waterloo, IA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The incorrect installation of the secondary seat stop reel which resulted in the pilot's loss of control when the seat moved full aft during takeoff.

## Other reports on N5067E (1)

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
