## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT REPORTED THAT HE HAD BEEN FLYING THE AIRCRAFT FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES CONDUCTING SOME HOVERING AND TIGHT PATTERN WORK OVER THE RUNWAY. WHILE MAKING A PASS OVER THE RUNWAY, HE STATED THAT HE DID NOT FEEL HE WAS GOING TO CLEAR THE TREES AT THE WEST END OF THE RUNWAY. HE STATED THAT HE THEN TURNED TO THE LEFT TO ATTEMPT A DOWNWIND LANDING AND THE AIRCRAFT LOST LIFT AND CONTACTED THE GROUND NOSE WHEEL FIRST JUST OFF THE SOUTH EDGE OF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT THEN FLIPPED CAUSING MAIN ROTOR BLADE STRIKE. AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE.
