## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING DUAL INSTRUCTION WITH THE STUDENT, A PRACTICE SIMULATED ENGINE FAILURE WAS INTRODUCED IN THE TRAFFIC PATTERN AT THUN FIELD, (KPLU). AS THE STUDENT WORKED THE SIMULATED FAILUREWITH THE INSTRUCTOR, EXTENDING AND VERIFYING GEAR POSITION WAS OVERLOOKED BY BOTH PILOTS. THE GEAR POSITION WARNING HORN WAS WORKING. THERE WAS NO HEADSET AUDIO FOR THE HORN INCLUDED IN THE AUDIO PANEL, AND WITH HEADSETS ON, THE SOUND WAS VERY FAINT AND IGNORED. THE AIRCRAFT MADE A NORMAL, PARTIAL FLAP LANDING AND CAME TO REST ON THE RUNWAY.
