## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AT 2016Z, THE CREW INFORMED NEW YORK CENTER CONTOLLER THAT AN ENCOUNTER OF SEVERE TURBULENCE OCCURRED AT 2000Z. WEATHER DATA WAS, VMC WITH OCCASIONAL TURBULENCE REPORTED IN THE AREA. MEDLINK WAS CONTACTED AND EMTS MET THE FLIGHT. ONE FLIGHT ATTENDANT SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES TO HER HEAD AND HAND. ONE PASSENGER ALSO SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES, LOCATION OF INJURY UNKNOWN. THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT AND PASSENGER INJURIES DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL TREATMENT AND THEY WERE RELEASED AT THE SCENE. AIRCRAFT WAS INSPECTED BY MAINTENANCE AFTER LANDING. MAINTENANCE LOG STATES, NO DAMAGE AND AIRCRAFT DID NOT EXCEED ANY LIMITS. PILOT LATER REPORTED THROUGH ASAP THAT THERE WAS AN AIRBUS A380 APPROXIMATELY 10-11 MILES AHEAD, WHICH THEY WERE FOLLOWING IN THE DECENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
