## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING PRACTICE TOUCH AND GO TAKE-OFF AND LANDINGS, THE PILOT STATED THAT AFTER COMPLETING 3 PREVIOUS TOUCH AND GOES, ON THE ACCIDENT LANDING, THE TAIL WHEEL VIBRATED WHEN THE TAIL WHEEL TOUCHED DOWN TO WHCI THE PILOT RESPONDED BY ADDING POWER AND ATTEMPTING A TAKE-OFF. DURING THAT ATTEMPT, THE AIRCRAFT VEERED TO THE RIGHT, SKIDDED OFF THE RUNWAY AND STRUCK A LARGE METAL RUNWAY MARKING SIGN DAMAGING THE AIRCRAFT SUBSTANTIALLY. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED TO THE PILOT WHO WAS THE SOLE OCCUPANT OF THE AIRCRAFT. NO FIRE ENSUED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA15CA144](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA15CA144), Jun 28, 2015: Bellanca 7GCBC (N8723), Williston, ND, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control, which resulted in a runway excursion, and a collision with runway marking signs.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
