## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AS STATED BY THE PILOT THE AIRCRAFT WAS ON APPROACH AND THE ENGINE QUIT IN FLIGHT. THE PILOT LANDED THE AIRCRAFT ON A ROAD. DURING THE LANDING THE LEFT WING MADE CONTACT WITH A WOODEN FENCEPOST WHICH CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO GROUND LOOP. THE GROUND CAUSED BOTH WINGS TO IMPACT THE FENCE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA15CA256](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA15CA256), Jun 30, 2015: Cessna 170 (N4027V), Raymond, MS, substantial damage. Probable cause: The flight instructor's inadequate preflight inspection of the fuel system resulting in a total loss of engine power due to fuel contamination.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
