## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT TOOK OFF FROM I69 ENROUTE TO LUK. AFTER REACHING AN ALTITUDE OF 1,800 FEET, THE ENGINE BEGAN TO LOSE POWER, AND EVENTUALLY QUIT. THE PILOT CONDUCTED A FORCED LANDING ON A GOLF COURSE, WHERE THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED UP AN EMBANKMENT, SPUN AROUND 180 DEGREES, AND IMPACTED TWO TREES. THE AIRCRAFT WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED, BUT NO INJURY OCCURRED TO THE PILOT OR PERSONS ON THE GROUND.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN15LA303](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN15LA303), Jul 5, 2015: Aviat A-1C-180 (N354BM), Cincinnati, OH, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s inadequate preflight inspection and fuel planning, which resulted in a loss of engine power due to fuel exhaustion.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
