## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT WAS TAXING OUT FOR DEPARTURE WHEN THE TAXIWAY OPENED UP INTO A SINK HOLE. THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR FELL INTO THE HOLE BUT THE MOMENTUM CARRIED THE AIRCRAFT A SHORT DISTANCE AND IT CAME TO REST A FEW FEET FROM THE OPENING OF THE HOLE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA15CA173](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA15CA173), Jul 6, 2015: Cessna 182 (N234CF), Athens, TN, substantial damage. Probable cause: The failure of the taxiway surface due to a sink hole, which resulted in the right main landing gear sinking into terrain causing substantial damage to the fuselage.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
