## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT DEPARTED FROM CALEXICO (CXL) AIRPORT, UPON RETRACTION OF THE LANDING GEAR, A LOUD GRINDING SOUND WAS HEARD BY THE PILOT AND BOTH PASSENGERS. ON APPROACH TO RIVERSIDE AIRPORT (RAL) THE PILOT CYCLED THE GEAR BUT THE RIGHT HAND (R/H)"GEAR DOWN" LIGHT DID NOT ILLUMINATE. THE PILOT PROCEEDED TO MANUALLY ATTEMPT TO LOWER THE GEAR BUT THE R/H "GEAR DOWN" LIGHT DID NOT ILLUMINATE. AFTER REQUESTING A LOW APPROACH; THE RIVERSIDE TOWER ADVISED THAT THE R/H LANDING GEAR APPEARED TO BE DOWN. IMMEDIATELY AFTER LANDING THE R/H LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED. FROM THE TOUCH DOWN SPOT; THE AIRCRAFT SKIDDED 500 FT (APPROX.) UNTIL IT CAME TO A FULL STOP 10 FT OFF OF THE NORTH SIDE OF THE RUNWAY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
