## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING A SHORT AND SOFT FIELD TAKEOFF THE AIRCRAFT ENCOUNTERED A DIP IN THE RUNWAY AS THEY BECAME AIRBORNE. THE PILOT ALSO BELIEVES A GUST OF WIND CAME UP AT ABOUT THIS TIME THAT FORCED THEM INTO A BANK. THE RIGHT WING CONTACTED A DIRT MOUND AND THE AIRCRAFTS WHEELS TOUCHED BACK DOWN. THE AIRCRAFT SLID DOWN A HILL WITH THE TAIL BEING CAUGHT ON A LOWER LEDGE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA15CA189](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA15CA189), Jul 18, 2015: Cessna 182Q (N735JB), Hanksville, UT, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control during the takeoff roll, which resulted in a runway excursion and a collision with terrain.

## Other reports on N735JB (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19791215036409A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19791215036409A), Dec 15, 1979: Cessna 182Q (N735JB), Ft Collins, CO, Substantial damage. Wind veered aircraft off icy runway into area of snow. Aircraft was thrown over by gusty surface wind.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
