## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JULY 18, 2015, CHRISTOPHER SHEFFIELD WAS THE PILOT IN COMMAND OF N936BW, A CHEROKEE SIX, PA-32-260. WHILE ARRIVING AT KHGR, HAGERSTOWN, FROM KOXB, OCEAN CITY IN THE LATE AFTERNOON WINDS WERE REPORTED AS VARIABLE. COMING IN ON RUNWAY 27 HE APPLIED FULL RUDDER AND TRIED TO KEEP CENTERLINE. AS HE TOUCHED DOWN THE PLANE IMMEDIATELY WENT TO THE LEFT. HE WAS NOT SURE IF IT WAS THE RESULT OF SOME UNEXPECTED WIND SHEAR OR TOUCHING DOWN WHILE STILL IN RUDDER USE, BUT THE UNREPORTED WIND WAS A FACTOR DURING THE APPROACH AND LANDING. THE PLANE WENT OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY AND BACK ON THE RUNWAY, CLIPPING TWO RUNWAY LIGHTS. HE IMMEDIATELY REPORTED IT TO THE CONTROL TOWER. THE TOWER ASKED IF I NEEDED ANY ASSISTANCE, WHICH HE DID NOT, AND TAXIED TO HANGAR 12D. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND THE DAMAGE TO N936BW WAS MINOR.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
