## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT STATED HE WAS TAKING OFF FROM A SOFT BEACH SURFACE ACROSS THE INLET FROM NINILCHIK, AND DURING ROLLOUT FOR TAKE-OFF, HEARD SOMETHING STRIKE THE AIRCRAFT. AT LIFTOFF THE ELEVATOR WAS STUCK IN THE PITCH NOSE UP POSITION. PILOT ATTEMPTED TO POWER DOWN TO REDUCE THE PITCH NOSE UP CONDITION, AND PUSHED YOKE FORWARD. THE AIRCRAFT CONTROL BROKE TO THE PITCH NOSE DOWN POSITION AND THE AIRCRAFT THEN IMPACTED THE GROUND SHEARING OFF THE NOSE LANDING GEAR, CAUSING A PROPELLER STRIKE AND SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. AFTER EGRESSING FROM THE AIRCRAFT THE PILOT SAW A PIECE OF A STICK WITH PAINT ON IT FROM THE AIRCRAFT AND REALIZED THAT THE ELEVATOR SYSTEM HAD BEEN DAMAGED BY THE STICK.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC15CA053](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC15CA053), Jul 22, 2015: Cessna U206F (N206CL), Kasilof, AK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's selection of unsuitable terrain for takeoff, which resulted in a jammed elevator and subsequent loss of control and collision with terrain.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
