## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

3000 FEET AND 100 YARDS PAST THE TOWER N6152M SEEMED TO LOSE POWER. THE PILOT CHECKED THE OIL PRESSURE AND TEMP AND EVERYTHING LOOKED GOOD, POWER CAME BACK BUT THE PILOT HAD ALREADY CALLED THE TOWER FOR AN EMERGENCY LANDING. THE PILOT WAS GOING TO LAND ON 30 RIGHT BUT HAD SEEN AN OPEN AREA AHEAD AND LOWERED THE FLAPS TO LAND IN THE OPEN AREA INSTEAD. HE PUT IT DOWN MIDWAY ON THE APRON APPLIED BRAKES AND WAS STEERING TO AVOID THE OBSTICLES, HIT THE AIRPORT FENCE AND FLIPPED UPSIDE DOWN ON THUNDERBIRD FIELD ROAD. THERE WERE NO INJURIES.

NTSB DETERMINED THAT LOSS OF PARTIAL ENGINE POWER WAS CAUSED BY A DEGRADEDCYLINDER EXHAUST VALVE SEAL.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR15LA223](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR15LA223), Jul 25, 2015: Stinson 108 - 3 (N6152M), North Las Vegas, NV, substantial damage. Probable cause: The partial loss of engine power due to a degraded cylinder exhaust valve seal, which resulted in low cylinder compression.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
