## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT ATTEMPTED SHORTFIELD TAKEOFF PROCEDURE CLOSE TO MTOW ON A HOT NIGHT, VFR IN A RURAL AREA WITH NO GROUND REFERENCE LIGHTS OTHER THAN MINIMAL RUNWAY LIGHTING. AIRCRAFT TURNED LEFT A FEW DEGREES FROM RUNWAY HEADING IN THE TIME BETWEEN ROTATION FROM THE RUNWAY AND RECONTACT WITH THE RUNWAY, WITH THE LEFT MAIN IN THE GRASS AT APPROXIMATELY 60 KNOTS. AIRCRAFT PROCEEDED STRAIGHT ON THIS PATH ALONG THE RUNWAY DRAINAGE SLOPE INTO A DEEP DITCH PARALLEL TO THE RUNWAY, WHICH FLIPPED THE AIRCRAFT ABOUT THE PITCH AXIS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA15CA216](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA15CA216), Aug 5, 2015: Cessna 150M (N3568V), Ellijay, GA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to attain and maintain sufficient airspeed during takeoff which resulted in a descent, loss of directional control, and a runway excursion.

## Other reports on N3568V (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19750212001829A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19750212001829A), Feb 12, 1975: Cessna 150M (N3568V), New Orleans, LA, Substantial damage

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
