## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT FLEW FROM DET TO YIP. NOSE GEAR DOWN LOCK LIGHT DID NOT ILUMINATE. PILOT CYCLED GEAR MULTIPLE TIMES AND FLEW PAST THE TOWER FOR A VISUAL. TOWER INDICATED NOSE GEAR WAS DOWN THOUGH THE LOCKED INDICATOR LIGHT WAS STILL NOT ILLUMINATED. PLIOT PERFORMED TOUCHDOWN ON MAINS HOLDING NOSE UP AS LONG AS POSSIBLE BEFORE LETTING IT SETTLE ON RUNWAY. NOSE TOUCHED DOWN, ROLLED A BIT, SETTLED, AND THEN PARTIALLY RETRACTED. ENGINE WAS AT IDLE WHEN PROP CONTACTED THE RUNWAY STOPPING THE ENGINE. NOSE GEAR DOORS SHOW RUNWAY DAMAGE. ONCE FIRE RESCUE REACHED THE AIRCRAFT PILOT (ALSO AN A&P / IA) WAS ABLE TO HAVE TAIL HELD DOWN AND PULLED NOSE GEAR OUT TO LOCKED POSITION ALLOWING EASIER TOW OFF THE RUNWAY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
