## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT STATED THAT UPON LANDING HE APPLIED THE BRAKES TO STOP THE PLANE, BUT THERE WAS NO STOPPING FORCE THAT TRANSFERRED TO THE GROUND. HE RELEASED THE BRAKE PEDAL THEN REAPPLIED THE BRAKES AND THEY LOCKED UP RESULTING IN THE AIRPLANE CARTWHEELING IN A FORWARD MOTION TO ITS FINAL INVERTED POSITION.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA15LA314](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA15LA314), Aug 13, 2015: Grumman G164 (N5277), Trenton, NC, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's decision to land the airplane with a tailwind and his subsequent application of excessive braking, which resulted in a nose-over.

## Other reports on N5277 (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19940526012619A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19940526012619A), May 26, 1994: Scwzer G164A (N5277), La Moure, ND, Substantial damage. Ground looped on landing. Pilots medical not valid for commercial operations.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
