## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT DEPARTED ALLENTOWN QUEEN CITY (XLL) RUNWAY 25 ON A PERSONAL FLIGHT APPROXIMATELY 1100 LOCAL. THE ENGINE LOST POWER APPROXIMATELY 100 FT AGL, THE PILOT INITIATED A RETURN TO RUNWAY 7. THE ENGINE PRODUCED INSUFFICIENT POWER TO MAINTAIN FLIGHT. THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED TREES AND CAME TO REST ON ITS NOSE IN THE LITTLE LEHIGH CREEK, APPROXIMATELY ½ MILE FROM THE DEPARTURE END OF 25. THE SOLE OCCUPANT WAS THE PILOT WHO SUSTAINED MODERATE INJURIES AND WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL.

THE AIRCRAFT TOTAL FUEL CAPACITY IS 24 GALLONS, AT LEAST 10 GALLONS OF AUTOMOTIVE FUEL WERE RECOVERED FROM THE WRECKAGE, ALL FUEL VALVES WERE POSITIONED CORRECTLY FOR FLIGHT. THE IGNITION SYSTEM WAS IN THE ON POSITION, SELECTED TO THE NUMBER 1 SYSTEM. THE #1 SPARK PLUG (RIGHT REAR) WAS FOUND MISSING FROM THE CYLINDER HEAD BUT ATTACHED TO THE IGNITION LEAD. THE CARBURETOR THROAT WAS UNOBSTRUCTED. THE AIRFRAME INDUCTION SYSTEM HAS TOO MUCH DAMAGE TO DETERMINE IF ANY PRE IMPACT ANOMALIES EXISTED. ENGINE CONTROLS WERE CONTINUOUS BUT JAMMED BY IMPACT DAMAGE. AERODYNAMIC CONTROL CONTINUITY COULD NOT BE ASCERTAINED DUE TO IMPACT AND RESCUE DAMAGE.
