## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRPLANE DEPARTED 1NC1 AND FLEW APPROXIMATELY 1600 FEET, AT AN APPROXIMATE HEADING OF 287. THE AIRPLANE CRASHED IN AN OAK TREE AT A 330 HEADING AT A HEIGHT OF 25-30FT.

THE AIRCRAFT WAS REMOVED FROM THE TREE ON 8/20/2015 AND TAKEN TO RONS ULTRALIGHT FIELD. THE FUEL TANK WAS HALF FULL AND THE FUEL VALVE WAS FOUND IN THE 'OFF' POSITION. THE THROTTLE MOVED PROPERLY AND MOVEMENT COULD BE HEARD IN THE CARBURETOR WHEN THE THROTTLE WAS MOVED FORWARD AND BACK. THE HORIZONTAL FUEL FILTER WAS HALF FULL AND THE FUEL LEVEL WAS NOT ENOUGH TO REACH THE INLET OR THE OUTLET OF THE FILTER. THE FUEL TANK FILLER CAP HAD POSITIVE VENTILATION. THERE WAS NO FUEL IN THE FUEL LINE TO THE CARBURETOR. THE CARBURETOR FLOAT BOWL WAS REMOVED AND WAS EMPTY. CONTROL CONTINUITY WAS ESTABLISHED BY THE EVIDENCE OF NO DAMAGE TO THE FLIGHT CONTROLS OR FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES.

PILOT INTERVIEWED AND STATED THAT HE DOES NOT HAVE A CURRENT BFR AND THAT HE CAN NOT HOLD AN FAA MEDICAL BECAUSE ^HE IS TAKING PRESCRIPTION DRUGS THAT ARE ON THE FAA'S LIST OF PROHIBITED MIEDICATIONS.^

## NTSB investigation

None matched to this report by aircraft and date. Search the NTSB's own records: https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-main-public/basic-search

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
