## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT WAS CONDUCTING LANDING PRACTICE. ON THE SECOND LANDING THE AIRCRAFT PORPOISED AND STRUCK BOTH THE TAIL AND NOSEWHEEL CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE TO THE TAIL AND SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE FIREWALL AND NOSEWHEEL. THE TOWER OBSERVED THE LANDING AND SUGGESTED THE PILOT HAVE THE AIRCRAFT INSPECTED. THE ACCIDENT WAS NOT REPORTED UNTIL SEPTEMBER 3, 2015.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA15CA248](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA15CA248), Aug 16, 2015: Cessna 177B (N13HK), Los Angeles, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain pitch control during the landing, resulting in a hard landing.

## Other reports on N13HK (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 20140419006489I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/20140419006489I), Apr 19, 2014: Cessna 177B (N13HK), Palm Springs, CA, No damage. Aborted take off due to a throttle issue and taxied off the runway

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
