## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON AUGUST 26, 2015, A CE-195 AIRCRAFT, N1516D, WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED UPON LANDING AT THE BUFFALO-LANCASTER AIRPORT (BQR). THE FLIGHT WAS BEING CONDUCTED AS A FLIGHT REVIEW. THE INSTRUCTOR PILOT (IP) INDICATED THAT HE HEARD THE CHIRP OF THE WHEELS SKIDDING ON THE RUNWAY DURING THE LANDING. HE INSTRUCTED THE PILOT FLYING TO GET "OFF BRAKES" AS THE AIRCRAFT BECAME AIRBORNE A SECOND TIME. ONCE AGAIN, THE IP INSTRUCTED THE PILOT FLYING TO GET "OFF BRAKES" AS THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN AND SUBSQUENTLY FLIPPED OVER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA15CA329](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA15CA329), Aug 26, 2015: Cessna 195 (N1516D), Lancaster, NY, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's excessive application of brake pressure, which resulted in the airplane nosing over.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
