## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT WAS FLYING LOW LEVEL ABOVE THE SNAKE RIVER, BELOW THE PALISADES DAM. AT 35 FEET AGL HE STRUCK POWER LINES WHICH THEN SNAPPED, BUT BECAME ATTACHED TO THE WHEELS OF THE PLANE. HE LANDED IN THE RIVER. THE AIRCRAFT FLIPPED OVER IN THE WATER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA15CA255](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA15CA255), Aug 27, 2015: Aviat A-1C-200 (N63BW), Irwin, ID, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain obstacle clearance during low level flight, which resulted in the airplane striking a wire, impacting water, and nosing over.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
