## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON AUGUST 27, 2015 AT APPROXIMATELY 1717 HOURS PACIFIC DAYLIGHT TIME, THE PILOT OF N919E, A SPECIAL LIGHT-SPORT DOVA AIRCRAFT SRO, DV-1 SKYLARK, DEPARTED SAN CARLOS AIRPORT (SQL). THE PILOT STATED THAT AFTER TAKEOFF AND AT ABOUT 50 TO 75 FEET ALTITUDE, THE ENGINE EXPERIENCED PARTIAL POWER AND HE PITCHED THE AIRCRAFT INTO A NOSE DOWN CONFIGURATION. THE PILOT DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH RUNAWAY TO LAND SO HE CONTINUED OVER THE END OF THE RUNWAY AND IMPACTED INTO A FIELD.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR15LA251](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR15LA251), Aug 28, 2015: Dova DV-1 (N919E), San Carlos, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: A partial loss of engine power due to fuel vapor lock. Contributing to the accident was the absence of a fuel return line.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
