## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PURPOSE OF THE FLIGHT WAS A MAINTENANCE FLIGHT AFTER AN OIL CHANGE. PILOT FLEW TO STARKE CO. (KOXI), LANDED, THEN PLANNED TO FLY TO LAPORTE (KPPO). HE SAW RAIN SHOWERS AT LAPORTE AND DECIDED TO FLY A PRACTICE ILS APPROACH TO RUNWAY 27 AT PORTER CO. AIRPORT (KVPZ). HE WAS CONCENTRATING ON LANDING SHORT ON RUNWAY 27 BECAUSE OF CONSTRUCTION ON THE INTERSECTING RUNWAY AND TAXIWAYS. THIS DISTRACTION CAUSED HIM TO FORGET TO LOWER THE LANDING GEAR.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
