## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT STATED WHILE PRACTICING TAKEOFFS AND LANDINGS DURING HIS SECOND HOUR OF A SOLO FLIGHT HE WAS ON SHORT FINAL AND WAS INSTRUCTED BY TOWER TO MAKE A FULL STOP. THE TOWER DID NOT ADD "IF ABLE" SO HE SENSED SOME URGENCY TO BRAKE, HOWEVER HE APPLIED THE BRAKES TOO HARD AND TIPPED THE NOSE OVER ONTO THE PROP. HE STATED, HE LANDED WITH NO DRIFT AND HE WAS IN CONTROL OF A THREE POINT LANDING WHEN HE BEGAN BRAKING. THE BRAKING WAS EFFECTIVE AND EVEN, AND HE CONTINUED TO APPLY THE BRAKES TRYING NOT TO LOCK THEM UP, WHILE ATTEMPTING TO TURN AT THE NEXT TAXIWAY. AS THE AIRCRAFT SLOWED IT SUDDENLY TIPPED ONTO ITS NOSE, BUT WITHOUT CARTWHEELING OR THE WINGS CONTACTING THE GROUND. HE STATED HE WAS FOCUSED TOO MUCH ON MAKING THE TAXIWAY, AND NOT ENOUGH ON THE RISK OF TIPPING OVER. HE REALIZES HE NEEDS TO FOCUS ON SAFELY ROLLING OUT, EVEN IT MEANS MISSING A TAXIWAY, OR EVEN IF HE HAS TO DO A MISSED APPROACH AND GO AROUND. ALSO, HE HAS STATED A LESSON HE LEARNED IN THIS INCIDENT, IS HOW FAST THE NOSE PITCHED DOWN AS HE WAS CONCENTRATING ON SLOWING THE AIRCRAFT DOWN TO MAKE THE TURN.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
