## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT'S STATEMENT IS AS FOLLOWS:

"I WAS TAXING OUT FOR TAKEOFF ON RUNWAY 17 AT DARE COUNTY AT APPROXIMATELY

1:30 ON SEPT 8 2015

AS I ENTERED THE TAXIWAY BRAVO FROM TAXIWAY DELTA I LOOKED THE LENGTH OF TAXI WAY AND SAW NO AIRCRAFT I CONTINUED TO TAXI I CONTINUED TO LOOK DOWN THE RUNWAY THE OTHER AIRPLANE WAS PARKED A LITTLE TO THE SIDE AND ACTUALLY OVER THE HOLD SHORT LINE I HAD TO HIT MY BRAKES HARD IN ORDER TO STOP BEFORE HITTING THE AIRCRAFT THE AIRPLANE CAME TO REST ON ITS NOSE NO OTHER AIRCRAFT WERE DAMAGED AND NO PERSONS WERE INJURED"

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
