## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT WAS ATTEMPTING TO LAND AT A REMOTE DIRT AIRSTRIP. PILOT ABORTED INITIAL LANDING ATTEMPT AND MADE A GO AROUND FOR A 2ND ATTEMPT BECAUSE HE FELT HE WAS TOO HIGH. DURING THIS 2ND ATTEMPT, HE WAS FOCUSSING ON MAKING A SHORT FIELD LANDING AND LOST AWARENESS OF THE AIRCRAFT AIRSPEED. THE AIRCRAFT STALLED ABOUT 15 -20 FEET ABOVE THE AIRSTRIP AND CONTACTED THE GROUND ABOUT 50 YARDS FROM THE APPROACH END OF THE STRIP. DAMAGE OCCURRED TO THE PROPELLOR, LANDING GEAR, BELLY STRUCTURE, AND THE LEFT WING IS BENT UPWARDS NEAR THE STRUT ATTACH POINT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA15CA257](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA15CA257), Sep 12, 2015: Glenn Timothy C Skystar Series 5 (N4291R), Green River, UT, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain pitch attitude, which resulted in the airplane exceeding its critical angle of attack and a subsequent aerodynamic stall/spin.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
