## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

SET UP FOR TAIL WHEEL LANDING, TAKING CROSSWIND INTO ACCOUNT (CROSS WIND WAS DESCRIBED AS SHIFTING FROM THE SOUTH AT 8 KTS). THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN, 60 KTS AND BOUNCED TWO TIMES AS A 3 POINT LANDING, THE AIRCRAFT THEN SETTLED TO THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. PULLING TO THE LEFT HARD, THE PILOT APPLIED RH RUDDER TO COMPENSATE. THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED OFF THE EDGE OF THE RUNWAY INTO THE GRASS WHERE THE RIGHT WING TIP AND HORIZONTAL STABILZER CONTACTED THE GROUND.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA15CA273](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA15CA273), Sep 19, 2015: Piper PA 20 (N6932K), Marshfield, MA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's loss of directional control during the landing roll, which resulted in a ground loop and impact with terrain.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
